Check Your CRB Status in 5 Minutes: Step-by-Step Guide
Updated April 2026 • 3 min read
You do not need a whole day to check your CRB status. With the right service, you can have your full credit report in your hands in under 5 minutes. Here is exactly how.
What You Need Before You Start
- Your national ID or passport number
- A Safaricom M-Pesa line with KES 200–300 balance
- Your full name as it appears on your ID
- A working internet connection (any browser, any device)
Minute 1 — Sign Up
Go to crbcheck.co.ke/signup.php. Enter your first name, last name, phone number, national ID number, email address, and choose a password. Click "Create Account". This takes about 60 seconds.
Minute 2 — Log In and Start Your Request
You are automatically logged in after signing up. Click "Check CRB Status" in your dashboard. You will see a form asking for your full name, ID number, M-Pesa number, and report type.
Minute 3 — Fill the Form and Choose Your Plan
Enter your details and select your plan:
- Listing Status — KES 200: Shows whether you are positively or negatively listed. Ideal for a quick check.
- Full Credit Report — KES 300: Complete report with all loan facilities, payment history, and detailed analysis. Ideal before applying for a loan.
Minute 4 — Pay via M-Pesa
After submitting the form, an M-Pesa STK push notification is sent to your phone automatically. It appears as a pop-up on your screen. Enter your M-Pesa PIN to confirm the payment. Do not close the browser while waiting.
Minute 5 — View and Download Your Report
Within 1–3 minutes of payment confirmation, your report is generated and displayed on the results page. You can read it on screen or tap the Download PDF button to save a copy. That is it — done in 5 minutes.
What Happens If the M-Pesa STK Push Doesn't Come?
Wait 60 seconds and check your payment status page. If it still has not arrived, confirm your M-Pesa number is correct and has sufficient balance. You can also pay manually to the provided paybill or till number shown on the waiting page.
